Bimatoprost eye drops were first used to treat glaucoma of the eye. As a side effect it was noticed to lengthen,darken and thicken eyelashes. Now they are the only FDA approved eyelash enhancer. Brands include Lumigan, Latisse, Eyreida preservative free.

When applied daily to the top lashes it can thicken, lengthen and darken your eyelashes by stimulating hair cells to enter the growth phase. They are not applied to the lower eyelashes as this can cause excessive growth of these lashes.

Results can be seen as early as 4 weeks.
